Hi, I’m Karen Marie

I spent my entire first pregnancy preparing for the arrival of my son. I remember telling myself, I’m grown. I know who I am. I’ll be fine. I made sure he had everything he needed.

And I was mistaken.

After birth, I realized how much I needed—and how little I had prepared for myself. My son had all the gear and gadgets that wouldn’t even matter in those first few months, but I had no plan for my own healing, rest, or emotional transition. I found myself deep in the weeds of motherhood, overwhelmed and unprepared.

That experience became the seed for the work I do today.

I knew I wanted to help mothers prepare not just for the baby’s arrival, but for their own transformation. As I stepped into the work of a doula, my understanding deepened. I began to see that preparation isn’t only about postpartum—it’s also about how we ready the body, mind, and spirit for the labor of birth itself.

And so here we are—doing the work that ensures mothers are just as prepared, supported, and cared for as the babies they bring into the world.
